The research employed a descriptive and analytical method using a library-based approach, utilizing books, articles, theses, and other sources. Initially, the study defines omission, followed by a discussion on the distinction between crimes of commission and omission, along with different types of omission-based crimes, including pure omission (simple negative crimes) and commission by omission (result-oriented negative crimes). Furthermore, the study introduces the origins of omission-based crimes and explores the historical trajectory of criminal liability arising from omission in Iranian criminal laws, along with relevant instances.</p> https://www.jlsda.com/index.php/lsda/article/download/88/98
